Adding Calculations with Formless.

For certain use cases, you might need to perform calculations, such as calculating prices, energy consumption, or costs for the next trip. Formless can handle these calculations for your audience, making it a valuable tool for such scenarios.

The Enhanced model performs better in these cases as it better understands the requirements. However, some basic calculations are also available in the Standard model.

It is crucial to ensure that the conversation Overview clearly mentions the need for a calculation. This helps in setting a clear outcome for the AI's response.

We also recommend adding a call to action that reflects the intent of the calculation. Both the information provided in the welcome screen and the call to action are fully part of the conversation and are interpreted as inputs by the AI.

In the Info to Collect section, you will need to ask for all the necessary information to perform the calculations. For instance, you can include questions about the number of pieces and the type of delivery. After gathering this data, add an item to define the calculation, in this example we state it as following: "Show the total price (=#pieces times $340 + delivery price) & ask for confirmation." This requirement ensures that the AI has the right formula to calculate the total price accurately.

Don't forget to provide needed information and further input in the Train the AI section. In this example the delivery price information is missing. Here we are repeating the formula for the total price and add a snippet with the prices of the two types of delivery. The AI will then use this information when needed, such as when calculating the total price or in case the respondent asks for delivery prices.
